My client, a family owned company who are a leading manufacturer of high quality food, are looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to manage a team within their modern factory based at their site in Crawley.
This succcessful applicant will join the technical department, to manage, develop and control the QA function.
Reporting to the Technical Manager they will have responsibility for the effective day to day management and development of the QA team. They will help give practical input to the HACCP, quality system and effective auditing procedures, helping to deliver best practice and a quality focus.
The ideal candidate will be experienced within the Technical/QA field of the food industry, strength and experience to control and manage a team is essential as this is a demanding factory environment. Chilled experience would be an advantage for this role.
Core hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 – 17.30 but must be flexible to meet the needs of the business.
Key responsibilities will include:-
To carry out the effective day to day management and development of the QA function Organising & managing of QA Team leaders & Assistants. To maintain & promote Good Manufacturing Practices of hygiene & housekeeping within the factory & for all staff Be able to complete KPI’s as set by the department manager. Manage QA Staff, support and assist the Factory Supervisor’s by balancing the hands on approach with office work. Implementation & achievement of quality requirements for both Pasta my client and their customers. Ensuring daily analysis/assessments of all manufacturing areas completed, reviewed and trended Development of individuals within team. To complete staff appraisals within QA team. Recruitment of QA personnel To aid in Traceability exercises Involvement in factory audits both internal and external Purchase, maintain & have calibrated monitoring equipment. To assist the technical manager in all aspects of EFSIS, customer, TSO & EHO audits. Operate within defined budget Ensuring all legal, Company & customer standards are adhered to. To ensure all Quality and HACCP Systems are in place, maintained & monitored to progress continuous improvement. Promote positive working relationships within the QA & other departments Responsible for the organising of microbiological and chemical testing. To help in the integration of the QA an technical facilities in achieving all customer Departmental needs |
