My client is looking to recruit an experienced Channel Sales Manager to develop and manage my clients indirect sales channel within (North America, EMEA or APAC) which contribute to the region achieving its revenue and profitability goals. The primary role is to identify, recruit and serve as the lead resource in managing these channel partners to acquire new customers and grow business from their existing account base.
The successful candidate will have experience with sales management in a multiple distribution channel business. Communications services sales experience is preferred, with knowledge of telecoms services/industry also beneficial. Candidate should exhibit strong strategic thinking, initiative, leadership and sales closing skills.
Education or Formal Training: College degree or 10 years professional experience.
Experience: Manager or Director level with sales experience in the high technology industry, with at least 4/2 years of successful channel management, is required. Candidate must have a successful track record in meeting sales quota objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the achievement of channel specific sales quotas (partners, account acquisition and revenue). Create and execute a territory business plan focused on the sale of my clients services through indirect sales distribution partners. Identify, qualify and recruit sales agent, affinity and private label service provider partners, to include management of all contract negotiations and monitoring of contract compliance. Manage channel partner on-boarding process, including training and marketing plan development, and provide ongoing support and resources to assist partners with qualified sales opportunities. Monitor sales effort and create sales reports to accurately forecast channel sales activity and goal attainment. Serve as the escalation point for all headquarters issues such as customer service issues, channel conflict and commission discrepancies. Recruit, train and manage channel account development managers as required
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with and as part of the regional direct sales and account support team to coordinate sales efforts which maximize performance. Communicate with corporate channel management team and regional peers to propose tactics to increase sales and awareness within the channel community. Support and leverage field marketing, product launches, product promotions and other lead or sales generating efforts.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Supervise channel account development managers if/as channel partner base grows. Must demonstrate an ability to excel within cross-functional teams, including leading personnel which do not directly report to this position to achieve team goals and objectives.
