My client is looking for an experienced Credit Director to develop the credit strategy for their business and to implement this strategy cost effectively, whilst minimising risk to the business. Working direct with the MD, you will have 2 direct reports, the Credit Manager and a Senior Analyst. In addition you will head up a Credit Department staff of 20+. The successful candidate will have at least 10+ years in retail banking with experience of contracts / commercial documentation. You will also have individual underwriting experience/capability with deals of up to £1-3m. Other key experience will include, Credit policy formulation, Relevant debt recovery experience, Experience of credit scoring models, Educated to degree level or equivalent, Excellent Analytical and Influencing skills, Strong Interpersonal and Leadership skills, Excellent written and presentational skills, Decision orientated problem solver Key Responsibilities: • To develop and gain approval for the Credit policies for the business. • To chair the Credit Committee. • To advise the Board, monitor and report on, business risk at Portfolio level. • Ensure effective monitoring, analysis and reporting processes are in place in respect of all credit processes. • Liaise with the Sales and Marketing Director and Heads of New Business and Field Sales regarding business development and risk. • Develop and maintain effective relationships with selected large brokers. • Review the provision of MI to ensure it is fit for purpose to support credit decision making and processes. Measures of Success • Credit policies are fit for purpose and are adhered to. • Financial targets are met • SLAs are met or exceeded. • Measures encompassing productivity and credit quality are in place, are fit for purpose and targets are met. • Quality of credit papers. • The business receives reliable timely and practical credit advice. Package will consist of a Six figure basic Salary together with annual bonus of £50K, Health Care, Car Allowance, Pension, SAYE, and possible share options. |
